On the scenic calm waters of Mandurah’s waterways

With the love of the sea, a nautical background or just the love of our environment, scattering of ashes at sea is a way to return to nature in peace and tranquillity. A most calming experience to continue one’s life.

How does it work?

Just phone or email us with any questions and your booking.

Book our Rebecca Sue which will carry 20 loved ones in comfort. We will cruise to a selected destination where you will be able to scatter the ashes and say your farewells. Our captain is only too happy to perform this duty or please carryout the duty yourself.

On arrival, we will take note and log for you, the exact location with our GPS identifying the place the ashes were scattered giving you the opportunity to re-visit at a later date.

The scattering:

On arrival the vessel motors will be turned off to allow us to float in peace and if a favourite song is chosen, the music will be played during the ceremony.

You may wish to scatter the ashes directly on the water with perhaps some rose petals and watch them gently disappear into the distance, or cast a wreath if you prefer or you may wish to farewell by placing the ashes into a special bio-degradable urn that we can supply so the ashes will lay to rest on the sea bed and in time drift away.

Friends, family and guests may all wish to throw a flower into the water with the ashes as you say a silent prayer of farewell.

If you prefer, you are welcome to bring a parish priest, celebrant or our Captain will perform the duty of the ashes scattering on the water.

What does it cost?

We believe you need time to enjoy the day and we will make it a most happy and memorable occasion.

You can charter the Rebecca Sue for a private and interment celebration for up to 20 guests. We will reserve the vessel for your exclusive use for four hours (our minimum hire rate) for $1,300.00 plus GST.

If you are inviting more than 20 guests, we can assist as we have a range of vessels and can carry up to 110 passengers. Just ask for a quote.

Celebration:

You are most welcome and encouraged to celebrate the scattering with a celebration after the scattering as we cruise and enjoy the scenery. You can BYO alcohol and food or let us give you a quote and leave the hard work and organising to us.

Unattended Ash Scattering:

We at Bouvard Cruises can also offer a dignified scattering on the behalf of loved ones who cannot attend.

The ashes are handled in a professional manner and our captain will record the exact time and location of the scattering which will be recorded and sent to you.

This service can be provided for $400.00 plus GST.
